Frequently Asked Questions

Are treatments available at other locations?

The highest level of care and greatest number of treatment options can be provided at our clinic, but for those who are unable to attend, then home visits are available upon request. Please note that additional fees may apply for those.

Are you able to treat any foot problem?

Due to the length of experience and extent of training of the Podiatrist at Health First, we are able to assess and diagnose all but the rarest foot-related pathologies, the vast majority of which are treatable by us.

How much will I be charged?

Our aim is to provide cost-effective solutions for your problems. Therefore a straight comparison of appointment fees with others is not applicable as it may cost a lot more with them to resolve your problems than it may do with us. And they may not even be able to achieve resolution for you! So it is better to ask, "How much will it cost to fix my problem". For guidance on such costs from some example foot problems, please check out our blog articles in these links (although prices have increased since they were written):

The cost of getting from A to B

The cost of ingrowing toenails

The cost of verrucas

The cost of heel pain

The cost of diabetic foot ulceration

The cost of cracked heels

The cost of corns

The cost of immobility

Your first appointment includes initial clinic registration (we are fully GDPR compliant), new patient assessment(s), facilities fee (contribution to non-staff costs) and consultation/treatment fees.

Therefore our initial charges (not including surcharges) range from £112.50 to £247.50 for new patients, depending on the presenting problem(s). The more complex or numerous the problems, the higher the level of assessments will be required; hence there are a range of fees. Remember that we may solve your problems in just one visit.

If no additional assessment/surcharges/equipment/procedures are required, follow-up appointments range from £67.50 to £127.50 with a 20% discount off treatment fees for FHP appointments (i.e. £58.50 to £82.50). A complete list of our fees is obtainable upon request from reception.

The time spent with patients during an appointment will be utilised fully to discuss their presenting problem(s) in order that we can fix their feet / foot-related problem as best we can. However if you have any questions or queries regarding our fees, please bring that to our attention so we can spend time addressing those instead. You can also read our informative blog here:

Are costs reduced for NHS patients, children or OAPs?

We are a clinic that sees private fee-paying clients. These charges are the same for all clients, irrespective of age. NHS patients are able to be seen but there are no reduced fees or discounts available.

However, our fees to resolve problems are very competitive and represent excellent value for money as we always try to improve foot problems and even cure them where possible. In the long-term, this can result in less or no longterm treatments, thereby providing potential cost-savings for clients.

Will my Health Insurance pay for treatment?

If you are making use of private medical insurance, please do check your cover as the onus is on you to pay any invoices. Do not assume that insurers will pay all of our fees on your behalf. Note that our surcharges aren’t usually covered by medical insurers. Some insurers require a letter of referral from a Consultant or GP, others just require a receipt from ourselves for you to claim back any fees paid.
